Bugger

Kenichi is out at the first of his many end-of-year parties and Annie is fast asleep an hour earlier than usual as she has her Christmas Concert at daycare tomorrow(although as her daycare is owned by Buddist priests and set in temple grounds I don't suppose "Christmas" concert is a good description but you know what I mean).I have a bottle of rather tempting red wine and some real, proper cheese at my disposal.Perfection...but not quite.

Bugger me if I didn't go and ruin it all by deciding that tonight I wanted to watch "Love Actually".This film gets me crying within the first few minutes(you know, the airport scenes?) and I love it.Anyway,I decided that I wanted to watch it when I had the chance to enjoy it and get into without Kenichi peering over at me and asking"Are you crying yet then?"Arghhhh...SHUT UP!!!

So,why is all ruined?Simple. Can't find the bloody DVD.I have spent 45 minutes looking for it and no luck.My evening is ruined.Bugger.

Marianne, I've never seen "Love Actually", I've seen the previews a few times. It looks so good. For starters I love Colin Firth, *drools*, I like him simply because of Brig Jones, anyone who'd wear a reindeer jumper for their mother, is pretty okay in my book (good heart) plus he's sorta cute! Also isn't Mr. bean in this? Omg, we love that guy, he's hilarious! And I love Emma Thompson, she is such an amazing actress, I've liked every movie she's ever done, especially the Nanny Mc Phee!

Question about this though.....Martine Mc Cutcheon....she is the gal with the black hair in this. I've seen her before and it drove me bonkers wondering where I'd seen her! And then it hit me....I used to watch a show in the US years back but it was a show from the UK, called East-Ender's. And she was some girl on there named Tiffany who died. I think that's her. But I'm not sure...I mean I could google the info. But... anyway, yes I used to religiously follow the Eastenders show and it wasn't even very popular in America (not sure why) but it was on a small little public channel. But it was an awesome show and I liked that show very much. Anyhoo....sorry to talk your ear off here. I was just wondering if that Martine gal, was indeed the same girl who played on Eastenders. ha ha ha! : )

Anyway, you have made me want to watch this movie now! Next time I go to the video store, I'm so getting this one, thanks!

Ps...did you ever find your DVD? : )

Yes Martine McCutcheon was indeed on Eastenders fyi. Don't watch it myself, but enough to have recognised her when I did see "Love Actually" whenever that was a million years ago!

We are hooked on the US West Wing - they are repeating the whole show from Series 0ne thank goodness... Leaves our Eastenders type things looking totally pathetic! Mind you we have to have the volume high to understand them as they talk SO fast - do all Americans talk this quickly? I don't remember from my Japan days that they did...?!

Hope you find the DVD M - I always find that Robert puts them and CD's/videos in the nearest box, not necessarily the correct one!

Jones Brood, thanks for answering, you know, I was thinking that was her! Awesome of you to tell me! : )

And to answer your question. Good one btw, you know I don't think all Americans talk that fast (gosh I hope we don't...eeek : ). But they really do talk pretty fast in the West Wing show don't they?

Btw, on behalf of America, sorry for Bert's horrible accent in Mary Poppin's. Ha ha ha! Worst British accent ever....makes, oh so many of us in the US cringe every time! Ha ha ha! : )

Still can't find the damn DVD.It must be in the same place as most of Annie's spoons....

Medea,if you were nice, you would send me your DVD plus all the wine(etc) you have in the house and I could help you out.Seems a waste otherwise;-)

Thanks for the info,JB,and haven't started with West Wing yet although we can get it on satellite.

And Gina, yes,Colin Firth is lovely, isn't he! And if you like Emma Thompson, she will make you cry in the film!

I always thought Bert's accent was pretty rubbish. Assumed it was an archaic way of talking - they did have stranger than life accents back then, very odd...

M - West Wing is really good, you need to concentrate though and it took a few watchings before I got hooked. Robert still has NO clue as to what on earth they are discussing polituically 99% of the time and I have to explain it all. And he loves it!
