The little things in life
My husband...Infuriating,stubborn,totally unromantic, selectively hard of hearing...At times I could happily smack him from one end of the country to the next and back.
A week or so ago,it got very cold and we had snow in the morning. It didn't settle near the coast but the mountains around us were covered with snow. After a cold day at school(remember,no heating in the classrooms..Brr),I drove home in the sunshine.I pulled into the driveway and there, sitting by our front door were 2 little snowmen. They were already half melted but still, they were snowmen! As Annie has never knowingly seen a snowman,I picked her up from daycare early and took her home. And she had a lovely time with them(and put their eyes and arms back in!).The next morning ,they were gone.
And the lesson I learned from this?So OK,my husband can be the most annoying person I know, but a man who drives up to the mountains during his lunch hour at work and without time to eat ,gets a bucketful of snow, rushes home and makes a couple of little snowmen and just manages to get back to his desk in time simply so his daughter can see her first snowman,is a very good man.And this is the man I married nearly 10 years ago. It really is the little things in life that count. And I could do with remembering that a little more often.

How sweet of your husband! And how cute are those snowmen? He must have forgot that snowmen have 3 balls, though. :)
What an awesome dad to do something like that!!!!! I`ve got a huge smile on my face after reading that post! :)
That was a lovely thing for him to do! It is usually the small things like that that make all the difference isn`t it!?!
Aaawww! Nice!
Funny picture!
Greetings,Steffi
Truly sweet and special. Can you imagine him even considering doing something such as this?
One the coolest quotes I've heard, though I am probabably repeating it wrong:(Tolkien)
"You can get to know someone after a couple of months but after a lifetime they can still surprise you."
So true, so true, it's the little things that count!!! I totally agree and what a wonderful hubby you have!!! : )
Oh my gosh, absolutely sweet. I love the way people can surprise you!
that is just a precious story! When I started reading I was thinking "well that sounds like my hubby too!!" LOL! What a blessing!
